Living in Yakima

In this video series, our team takes you around the Yakima Valley, showing you why we say, "Yeah, we love it here too." You'll see our favorite spots to eat, drink, explore, and showcase some amazing neighborhoods around our community.

There's so much to love here, we just had to show it off!

Yeah, we love it here too.

The Yakima Valley is a unique and diverse place.  I’ve truly enjoyed living here and serving this community for over 20 years.  Nestled between the Cascade Mountains to the west and the eastern flatlands, our Valley is perfectly situated to offer a thriving culture embracing all walks of life.  From the young professionals and families newly discovering what Yakima has to offer, to those who have embraced it as home for many decades, seeing it through its ups and downs, it has something for everyone.

Sun 200+ days a year!  Our climate creates the perfect environment for farmers, ranchers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.  Our downtown bustles with a thriving restaurant scene, independent small businesses, tasting rooms, breweries and shops.  And all of this is surrounded by the beautiful green swaths of our orchards, hop farms and vineyards.

It’s my passion to work in Yakima, for Yakima and anyone who is tempted to head this way.

Yakima Rotary

We recently celebrated 100 years of Rotary in Yakima! We are a “CAN DO,” solution-oriented group of people and as a board member, I take the unity and support of our community very personally.  From our parks to food banks, activity centers to education scholarships, I am proud to play an active role in creating lasting, positive change in our community.

Yakima County Development Association

I am constantly blown away by the passionate members of our community who are committed to making Yakima a better place to live and do business.  In recent years, we have seen the enhancement and expansion of our small business community through private partnerships that are making things happen across all types of industries.  As President of the Board of the YCDA, I have a unique opportunity to support our community initiatives, understand our strengths for supporting businesses and learn how we can all be helping each other!
